On the way back from checking water this beautiful hawk was in the mood to pose for a picture.

Two Weeks Later
Two Weeks Later
I painted a still life of semi-green cotton bolls and then left for a trip to Texas leaving the still life set up in the studio. When I returned two weeks later the cotton had changed so much that I decided to paint another still life of it. This painting is done in oil on cotton canvas. The actual painting measures 12" X 16" and comes with the frame. For more information please see my website.

Cotton & Oil in Progress
Here is a still life in progress. None of the lights are painted and the whites are just the canvas showing through. The oil can was in the old barn.
It is meaningful to me since the farm we now have was bought by a Texas oil man named Rodney DeLange. He partnered with my husband's grandfather and they turned it into a going cotton farm and cattle operation.
